  1. Hello - are you coming in with Nations Hospital? They have six villas there.

If so ask if you can take your housing allowance instead - 90k per year will get you your own apartment.

Yes I'm coming to work at the new Nation Hospital. I've not heard much about the villas other than that they're big. Have you seen them? From what I could tell the housing allowance I've been offered isn't enough on my own to get a place. I'm hoping once I make some friends I'll be able to move! Thank you for the advice.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm so grateful for your clear and concise response. It's a challenge moving on my own and not being able to have an idea of my potential new home/area so this is great to hear. Thanks again
  3. Al Wahda neighbourhood

Thanks Pebbles and chaletfan, From what I've been told, I will be living in a large house in a compound with other staff...scarily like going back to university! I'm just trying to get a feel of the area, the types of accommodation and what to expect as I will be coming out on my own with no real knowledge of AD housing. If I'm going to end up in an old dilapidated house, then I want to know where to look for alterntives etc. Thanks so being so helpful
  4. Al Wahda neighbourhood

Okay. Thanks for the reply. I have limited info about my accommodation at present other than location. Is it a safe neighbourhood? Easy access to shops from the sounds of things.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I'm moving to AD later this year and my employer have advised that I'll be put into accommodation in the Al Wahda area. When I google the area, all that comes up is the mall. Can anyone tell me if this is an ok place to live? I'm just wanting to be sure that my move will be as smooth as possible. Any help greatly received. Jx

Hi all, My names Josie, 28 years old & I am actually still in London currently but due to move to AD later this year to work as a midwife. I'm a bit apprehensive as its a big move, not married, no kids, so I will need all the help I can get in the coming months
