INTRODUCE YOURSELF !!!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I'm Sophie and arrived in Abu Dhabi last weekend. DH moved over at the end of May and I've followed with our 2 children - an 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl.

I was working back in the UK, but I'm now on an unpaid career break.

We're in Raha Gardens and managed to get the kids into Raha School.

I'd love to play tennis and have some group lessons. Any ideas where to go?

Looking forward to making some new friends (and the weather cooling down!).

Hi everyone, My name is Catherine and I'm 45 from Scotland, we moved to Abu Dhabi a couple of weeks ago, My husband is a teacher and I'm a nurse, I'm still waiting on all the paperwork being completed for my job though. I have 2 daughters one is 12 and at BISAD and my other daughter is 20 and still in Scotland. We're still living in a hotel at the moment so still feels a bit like being on holiday. Hopefully we'll be in our apartment soon and we can really start to settle in. Everyone is so friendly and I know we're going to setting in just fine x

Hi everybody

I'm Thea and currently Living in Denmark but will be in AD in two months. In Denmark I work as a doctor of internal medicine, but in AD I will have the pleasure of staying home with my daughter at 3 years and son at 4 months. We're being installed at A hotel apartement in al Khalidiyah, while looking for a permanent place. I've been looking at al Raha gardens - does anybody have any experiences they would like to share? Coming from a rather cold country, I'm looking forward to the warmth and pool, but is a private pool a good idea with small children? What do you think? And do you think it would be unvise to rent a house that one haven't sene in Real life? I would just like for us to move straigt from Denmark and to our final destination i AD and thereby avoid the hotel apartement. I think it would be best for the children...

Hoping to meet some of you and establish playgroups and coffee dates!

Kind regards

Thea

Welcome Thea,

And i hope you guys have a safe trip to Abu Dhabi.

At first it's good idea to see the house first! "You can't buy a fish in the sea"

Plus, warmness, oo yeah, there is plenty of it here in UAE.. specially in the Summer.

I am sure you'll like it here...as it's way different than being in Denmark.

Wish you happy stay and good luck

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, currently living in Dubai, on a Abu Dhabi visa. And am searching for information on Health Insurance, Daman in particular. I don't know much about Abu Dhabi, but if you need info on Dubai, I might be able to help (hopefully). :biggrin1:

Hello HMAD, welcome to the forum.

What type of information are you actually looking for with Health Insurance? eg: a general recommendation? Most of the insurance companies, including Daman, have lots of information on their websites.

Hello, my name is Nikoah. My family moved to Abu Dhabi a little over a month ago. I have 2 kids, a son who is 6 and a daughter who is 10. I am a stay at home mom at the moment, and my kids are home schooled at this time. We moved here from China where we lived for 2 1/2 years. Before that we were in Kurdistan where I taught primary school. My husband is an associate professor here. So far we are really enjoying life here in Abu Dhabi, it is so much better than small town China.

Hi everyone :)

My name is Natalie and I am moving to Abu Dhabi in August! Studying business management in Edinburgh but moving here as my husband is working here. No children as for now but maybe in a couple of years. Hope to meet some new people when I move here. Not sure what else to say other than that I am excited to be living in emirates. New culture and new experience. How do you find it here? Oh by the way I created a topic in the forum hoping someone knows of a safe natural contraception? I already found a fertility monitor but was hoping to hear from a member in this forum who has tried it. It's called lady-comp. I would also love to hear what other contraception methods you are using as I stopped the birth control pill. Here is a link to the topic :) http://www.abudhabiwoman.com/topic/84713-natural-contraception/
