I've lived in Abu Dhabi since May 2014. Before that, I lived in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada. At first, when I arrived in AD, I was still working as an environmental engineer, and I found it almost impossible to network professionally.  Given that I had lost my motivation in my old career anyway, I knew it was the time that I go for my career aspirations!

Now, I'm super excited to start my new direction; I want to share my message as far and wide as possible. Finding these professional networks is very challenging...  but I'm working on it!

Initially, it wasn't my plan to have such a high focus on helping women—I just wanted to help everyone.  As I progressed through my training, it turned out... the majority of my clients were female.

As we worked together, I literally watched how these women healed themselves—I could see the empowerment that they felt—it was written all over their face!

Imagine what a different society, a different world we would live in if women truly knew their worth—if they had the confidence in themselves—that inner-calm and self-awareness.

One of my favorite quotes that I have come across recently says it all:

"Do you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?"

That most certainly applies to most women! My purpose is to help women realize that they are not what that negative-voice-inside-their-head says they are. To help women free themselves from the constraints and limitations of other peoples' beliefs, rules, and expectations is an amazing experience for myself and my clients.

2016 was MY year—I loved it!. It was the year that I walked away from my career of 15+ years because it no longer fulfilled me, and to be honest, it was using up all my spare energy.  I needed to go towards something new, and better, and inspiring.  It was 2016 that I started meditating almost every day. It was the year that I decided I would clean out all the 'stuff' from each room in my 'emotional' home—to clear my head of all its 'baggage.' It was the year that I started my hypnotherapy studies to learn a way of allowing clients to find inner-peace sooner, rather than later. It was the year that I began a four-month journey to becoming a Certified Teacher of Meditation.

2016 was also the year that I started working with my clients during the practical portion of my training. By far, the most rewarding experience I have had. Each client helped themselves, with my guidance, to reach their goals they had set.  Since then, clients have been able to:

- quit smoking, and/or stop other addictive behaviors
- free themselves from the 'prison' of their traumatic pasts
- heal themselves from physical illnesses
- And, significantly improve their self-confidence and enable themselves to release their constant concern for what others thought of them.

One of my favorite empowerment stories was with a dear client who was able to end a 30+ year food addiction... finally.  For me, being able to be with them and guide them through their journeys of healing and empowering themselves was one of the best experiences of my life!  And experiences like this continues in 2017.

I love helping my clients, and I love Abu Dhabi! The world's cultures are literally at your doorstep.

When I was asked about advice for women in Abu Dhabi, I thought:

"Oh goodness! If only I had some fantastic advice... I would surely be using it!   Here is what I have learned so far... keep it as simple as possible and if you want to find the answer to a question, ask at least three different people, or ask an abudhabiwoman.com. With so many different home countries, these answers will always be different, but you will get a sense of the general vicinity of where the answer to your question lies. And that's a pretty good place to start!"
